Pathways to Housing DC is an innovative nonprofit agency that is based on the successful NYC model of Housing First- moving people who are homeless and have mental illnesses off the streets by providing immediate access to scattered site housing and the intense support services to live successfully in the community. This model reverses the traditional model that a person must be clean and sober, medicated and "ready" for housing before they are offered their own place to live. Services are offered through an ACT (Assertive Community Treatment)Team model that provides for full, comprehensive services when the person is ready to access them.
