What You Will Do:

GeoDecisions is currently seeking applicants interested in joining the team as a full-time Entry Level Data Analyst/Technical Report Writer to work in ourNewport News, Virginia office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse team that is currently working on a federal government contract that includes logistics simulation, report writing, data collection, geospatially based data analytics, data visualization, and analysis. This role may require some overnight travel. Our current opportunity includes the following:

  • Compiling technical data from report documentation for simulations
  • Compiling transportation infrastructure datasets from GIS for simulations
  • Performing GIS spatial analyses using geoprocessing software such as ESRI and/or other GIS tools.
  • Compiling, organizing, and editing GIS data from maps, databases, and other sources
  • Data modeling and proprietary software simulation of GIS data
  • Interpreting model data for technical report inclusion
  • Technical report writing
  • Data Modeler Data simulator
Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate, B.A, A.S, B.S. or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Geography, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years' technical experience in data modeling or data simulation
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro desktop application
  • Knowledge of geodatabase design fundamentals
  • Knowledge of supported ArcGIS Platform data formats and file management techniques.
  • Understanding of cargo shipping methods and logistics
  • Understanding of projections and coordinate systems
  • Understanding of data collection analytics
  • Organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Python knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of military transportation logistics a plus
